Commonplace Vol. 06 - Seasons of Sabbath
Commonplace Vol. 06 - Seasons of Sabbath
About this Issue
"Sabbath" means to stop or cease movement, but it doesn’t have to mean stopping all activity. Rest and sabbath can be simply a change of pace, an on-purpose cutting out (or bringing in) of activities that promote a calm reorienting to what is true about the world.
Think about what sabbath looks like in your life, whether it is stolen moments of peace in a hectic day, weekly days of rest, or a longer period of sabbatical. How do you rest? What practices do you keep? How do you find sabbath when life doesn't give you the luxury of a vacation or a day off? As you slowly savor this visually calming, and word-rich issue, we hope you catch a new and hopeful vision for what it means to “sabbath” well.
