About this Issue
How can we celebrate when the world is so haunted by darkness? In this issue, we remind ourselves that the joy of the Lord is our strength, and His redemption in ordinary places is worth throwing parties for. God is good and faithful at all times, and He calls us to perpetuate that goodness in the world.
True celebration does not mean escapism or denial of hard, difficult things. Instead, it means being present to the goodness of God in the world. It is noticing and honoring that goodness in tangible ways – whether that be a lavish meal of commemoration or a quietly whispered “thank you” at the sight of a beautiful sunset. Celebration is accessible to everyone, no matter the circumstance or resources available, and it is particularly powerful when practiced in the context of community.
In this issue, our heart’s desire is for you to read and see anew the deep joy that comes from knowing God is for us. His beauty invades and transforms; celebration is our invitation to see and participate.
